Penrith RSL Minis
Our Minis teams (Ages between Under 6 to Under 9, for Boys & Girls) play on a Saturday in a the Western Sydney Mini’s Competition which is run by the Parramatta District, which Penrith RSL are apart of.
Other teams in the Western Sydney Competition are: Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Dundas, Hawksbury, Hills, Norwest, Western Raptors
Most games will be played on one of the above grounds.

During the season, there are also local Gala days held by other districts, usually at Redfield and Ryde – these will appear on the calendar.
Age Group Information – 2021
See below table for which year your child will playing in based on the calendar year they were born.

Under 6: These age groups are tackle-free, with a focus on ball skills, teamwork and fun. Generally the games are 2 x 10 minute halves, usually with 2 games each Saturday (depending on the draw). They play with a standard rugby union ball size 2
Under 7: Same as the 6’s however 15 min halves
Under 8: These age groups are tackle rugby, with a focus on introducing tackling in a safe way and learning the skills of positional play (forwards and backs). Generally the games are 2 x 15 min halves, usually with 2 games each Saturday (depending on the draw). They play with a standard rugby union ball size 3.
Under 9: Same as the 8’s but games are 2 x 20 min halves.
